Purchased that camera for my wife last month, and obtain since taken a vacation, and recorded several family gatherings. sony dcr-dvd650 camcorder video quality that camera gives is wonderful, and creates a steady image, even withy my shaky hands. The zoom range is impressive as well. Still images were great during theo- day, and theo- camera is fast. It captures theo- image almost immediately, better than our stand alone digital camera. The focus isn’t always dead on when you move theo- camera around quickly, but it recovers well enough. The reason for theo- 4-star rating is that that camera didn’t offer a lot inside theo- area of night time picture taking and video capture. The video leaves less into be desired, as theo- lenses capture enough light into make sense of that is going on, but theo- camera is no, non- usable at night. Now that may obtain more into do withy theo- fact that i haven’t figured out better settings, or am just completely missing a flash feature i haven’t seen, but inside either case, i still need into carry around my digital camera for night shots. As a video camera, that output blows everything out of theo- water that i obtain ever used inside theo- video quality department. All inside all, i am happy withy my purchase, and wish maybe find that theo- one shortfall withy theo- output is inside fact a problem withy theo- user (me) and no, non- theo- output.
